내게 주는 교훈

What lesson is God teaching me?
V. 16 Hushai followed David’s orders to find out the plans of Absalom and his supporters by risking his life to show up at the enemy camp. In the end, God used Hushai’s loyalty to David to save him. Am I also working hard as a loyal servant of God to expand the Kingdom of God? How am I acting in my community?



Vv. 17-19 Absalom, who loved to display himself and show himself off to others, became even more arrogant when Hushai praised him. He eventually chose a path that would lead him to ruin. These feelings of Absalom made him become a traitor to his father. The praise of the people can be true in certain matters, but they are not absolute standards. Am I believing the praise of others to be true and only puffing up my pride and desires? Do I trust men's judgment to be absolute, and feed my pride or fall into self-pity?

Vv. 20-23 Ahithophel is trying to lead Absalom to the street of treason completely destroying his relationship with David by giving him this order. And Absalom, whose eyes have already been darkened with the desire to usurp his father, breaks the strictly forbidden law and commits a sin. Greed grows like pregnancy, it gives birth to sin, and as sin matures it brings death. In the ancient Near East, there were those who usurped the throne, took the wife or concubine of the previous king and proclaimed the kingdom to be theirs. This was the same result that came about after Absalom asked Ahithophel what to do. Am I living according to the Bible or am I living according to my greed?

내게 주시는 교훈은 무엇입니까?
16절 후새는 다윗의 명대로 압살롬 정권의 기밀탐지와 붕괴를 꾀하기 위해 죽음을 무릅쓰고 적진에 뛰어듭니다. 결국 후새의 충성을 하나님이 사용하셔서 다윗을 살려내는데 일등공신으로 사용하십니다. 나도 하나님 나라를 확장하는 일에 하나님의 충성스런 동역자입니까? 공동체에서는 어떻습니까?



17-19절 평소 자기를 과시하고 드러내기를 좋아했던 압살롬은 후새의 치켜세우는 말에 더욱 교만해져 결국 멸망하는 지름길을 택하는 결과를 가져왔습니다. 압살롬의 이런 마음이 아버지를 반역하도록 만들었습니다. 사람의 평가는 참고가 될 수 있지만 절대적인 기준은 못됩니다. 나는 사람의 평가나 말을 절대적인 것으로 믿고 교만하거나 절망하지 않습니까?



20-23절 아히도벨은 압살롬으로 더욱 반역의 길로 치닫게 하여 다윗과의 관계를 완전히 끊으려고 이와 같은 주문을 합니다. 그리고 이미 정권찬탈에 눈이 어두워진 압살롬은 율법이 엄히 금하는 근친상간의 죄를 범하고 맙니다. 욕심이 잉태한즉 죄를 낳고 죄가 장성한즉 사망을 가져오는 법입니다. 당시 고대 근동에서는 왕위 찬탈자들이 전왕의 처첩을 취하여 자신의 왕됨을 선포하는 관례가 있었습니다. 압살롬이 무엇을 해야 할지를 아히도벨에게 물은 결과입니다. 나는 말씀따라 행동하는 자입니까? 아니면 욕심따라 행동하는 자입니까?

May I live a life that turns my ears not towards the words of humans, but towards the words of God.
사람의 말이 아니라 하나님의 말에 귀 기울이며 살게 하소서.
