Who is God like?
V. 32 God forgave us in Christ. God saved me when I was dead in my sins. God was patient with my stubborn rebellion and responded to me with mercy and compassion. He is commanding us today to, “Forgive as I forgave you!”
What lesson is God teaching me?
V. 25 It is not enough to just get rid of deception. We must speak the truth together with our neighbors. Rather than practicing blind love that turns a blind eye to falsehood, we must speak the truth to each other in love and help each other grow in the word of truth.
Vv. 26,27 Let us not sin in our anger. If we do not resolve our anger before the sun sets, we give Satan an opportunity to attack. Therefore, if we do not subdue our anger and control our actions, we will lose an opportunity to carry out God’s will. Is there some resentment in your heart? Resolve your anger today before the sunsets.
Vv. 29-31 Christians must get rid of evil talk. But do not be satisfied with just that; speak good words to others to encourage and benefit them. What kind of words are on my lips? Do I make jokes that put down people or hurt them with my sarcasm? Let us use words that bless and comfort others.
Thank you for the grace that called me a child of the holy God. May my daily words and actions be holy.
