The Dead Bones will be Made Alive
The scene changes from the city that is filled with vibrant people (36:33-38) to a valley that has been cast over with the shadow of death.
Who is God like?
Verses 1, 2- God first shows Ezekiel the situation of despair before death. God takes Ezekiel to the valley in Babylon, where the people have been kept as captives. Ezekiel walked past mounds of dry bones, and he had to try and see life there. God also leads us to be able to see where the Spirit is needed in every situation. Are you ready to see, understand, and listen to God’s command?
Verses 10, 14- God works through the Word and the Spirit, and He brings the dry bones back to life and makes them “a vast army”. Many churches today are busy trying to use various means to bring people to God. But God’s method is to listen to the prayers of His people, to answer them, and to work through His Word and Spirit.
What lesson is God teaching me?
Verses 7, 9- The prophet Ezekiel prophesied to the bones according to the wishes of God, and told them to come to life. Great work is then done. God changes people and situations, but He also wants our participation. God wants us to speak to someone about Him today. How are you cooperating?
Verses 11-14- When God brings His people back to Israel, this prophecy will partially come true. All things are completed through Christ. The new Israel that is filled with the new Spirit will be completed in Christ and be formed with a faith in Christ (Gal 6:12-16).
God, who makes dead bones come to life, please bring Your revival.
