Five Loaves and Two Fish

The miraculous sign of the five loaves and two fish is written in all four gospels. It shows that Jesus is the origin of life and the mighty provider for all the needs of our lives.
오병이어의 표적은 유일하게 사복음서에 모두 기록된 사건으로, 예수님이 생명의 근원이시요, 모든 생명의 필요를 채워 주시는 권능자이심을 보여 줍니다.

Thinking & Understanding
When Jesus asked where they could buy bread for the many people, Philip answered that it would cost 200 Denarii, eight months’ wages, to buy enough bread. It was a very realistic answer (vv. 3-8). Then Andrew, another disciple of Jesus, brought Jesus five small barley loaves and two small fish from a little boy. Jesus fed more than 5,000 adult men (plus many other women and children) and there were twelve baskets leftover. Jesus did not use the reasonable calculation by Philip; instead He used the faith of Andrew and the commitment of a little boy (vv. 9-13).
예수님께서 많은 무리에게 먹이실 빵을 구하자 빌립은 당시 사람들의 8개월 치 임금에 해당하는 200데나리온이 있어야 한다고 말했습니다. 이것은 지극히 현실적인 대안이었습니다(3-8절). 그때 예수님의 또 다른 제자 안드레는 한 아이가 가지고 온 보리 빵 5개와 작은 물고기 2마리를 예수님에게 가지고 왔습니다. 예수님은 그것으로 남자 어른만 5천 명이 (이 숫자에 더해 더 많은 여자와 아이들까지) 넘는 많은 사람들을 모두 배부르게 먹이시고도 열두 광주리나 남게 하셨습니다. 예수님은 빌립의 합리적 계산이 아닌 안드레의 믿음과 아이의 헌신을 사용하셨습니다(9-13절).

What lesson is God teaching me?
God wants us to rely on Jesus alone in every situation. God not only provides our physical food but our spiritual food as well. But in today’s passage, the crowd Jesus feed understood Jesus as the one who only provides for the physical need and tried to make Him a worldly king. Ask God to provide for your spiritual needs as well as your physical needs.
모든 상황 속에서 예수님만을 의지하시기 바랍니다. 하나님은 우리의 육적인 양식뿐만 아니라 영적인 양식도 채우시는 분입니다. 하지만 오늘 본문에서 무리들은 예수님을 육적인 필요만을 채우시는 분으로 이해하며 이 세상의 왕으로 세우려고 했습니다. 하나님에게 내 육적인 필요뿐만 아니라 영적인 필요도 구하시기 바랍니다.
