In Chapter 8, the Word states, ‘Jesus is the light of the world revealing God,’ which was confirmed when Jesus healed a man who was blind since his birth
8장에서 예고된 ‘예수님은 하나님을 계시하는 세상의 빛이시다’는 말씀이 태어날 때부터 소경인 사람을 치유하는 사건을 통해 확증됩니다.
Thinking & Understanding
The disciples asked Jesus, “Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered that it was not because of anyone’s sin, but for the glory of God. Then Jesus healed the man. Through this event, Jesus showed that spiritually closed eyes are opened once a person comes to Jesus (vv. 1-7). People who saw this event questioned it, because the man, who had been a blind beggar a few minutes before, could now see with his eyes. Then, the man healed by Jesus testified that Jesus had healed him (vv. 8-12).
태어나면서부터 앞을 못 보는 사람을 놓고 제자들은 예수님에게 이 사람이 앞을 못 보게 된 것이 누구의 죄 때문인지 물었습니다. 하지만 예수님은 누군가의 죄 때문이 아니라 하나님의 일을 나타내기 위한 것이라고 말씀하시며 그 사람의 눈을 고쳐 주셨습니다. 예수님은 이 사건을 통해 하나님으로부터 보냄을 받으신 예수님에게 나아올 때에 영적으로 감은 눈을 뜰 수 있음을 보여 주신 것입니다(1-7절). 이 사건을 본 사람들은 의문을 품었습니다. 바로 직전까지 앞을 보지 못해 구걸했던 사람이 눈을 떴기 때문입니다. 그러자 예수님으로부터 고침을 받은 그 사람이 예수님이 자신을 치유하셨음을 스스로 증언합니다(8-12절).
What lesson is God teaching me?
The man who met Jesus and had his blindness healed openly testified about Jesus. Is there anyone you know who is spiritually blind because they do not know Jesus? How can I share Jesus with them?
예수님을 만나고 영적인 눈을 뜬 사람은 예수님을 증언합니다. 내 주위에 아직 예수님을 만나지 못해 영적으로 눈 먼 사람은 누구인가요? 그들에게 우리가 만난 예수님을 어떻게 전할 수 있을까요?
Help those who cannot see Jesus, because they are spiritually blind, to open their eyes.
