When I Go Out in Front of the Holy God
거룩하신 하나님 앞에 나아갈 때는…
The psalmist shares about the type of person that can go to the temple of God and worship before the Lord. He shares five positive attributes (vv. 2, 4) and five negative attributes (vv. 3, 5a); a total of 10 different attributes on the issue.
시인은 하나님의 성전에 올라가 주 앞에 경배할 수 있는 백성의 조건을, 긍정적인 것(2, 4절)과 부정적인 것(3, 5a절) 각각 5가지씩 모두 10가지를 제시합니다.
Thinking & Understanding
The psalmist asks who can go into God’s sanctuary and dwell there with God, and then answers his own question. The person that can go to God is not a person who is rich or has a high stature, but a person who does not slander his neighbor and is blameless. It is a person who is far from the type of people that God hates, and close to those who fear God. Also, it is a person who keeps his promises to God, even if they are met with a loss and do not bribe others, or do usury for their own gain. A person that can be with the holy God is a person who lives a holy life. This type of person can be with God forever and never be shaken (vv. 1-5).
다윗은 누가 하나님이 계시는 성소에 들어가 거룩한 하나님과 함께 살 수 있는지 묻고, 그 물음에 대답합니다. 하나님께 가까이 나아갈 수 있는 사람은 돈이 많거나 지위가 높은 사람이 아니라, 이웃을 모함하거나 모욕하지 않고 해를 끼치지 않는 사람입니다. 하나님이 싫어하는 사람을 멀리하고, 하나님을 두려워하는 사람들을 가까이하며 높이는 사람입니다. 또 자신이 손해를 보더라도 하나님과의 약속을 지키며, 자신의 이익을 위해 뇌물을 받거나 고리대금을 하지 않는 사람입니다. 한마디로 거룩한 하나님과 함께할 수 있는 사람은 거룩한 삶을 사는 사람이며, 이렇게 사는 사람은 하나님과 동행하기에 영원히 흔들리지 않을 것입니다(1-5절).
What Lesson is God Teaching Me?
When we think about a person who has a strong faith, we think about a person who does not miss worship and a person that is active in church. This is not incorrect. A person who truly has a good faith is a person who is honest and lives a clean life outside of church, and has good relations with their neighbors.
우리는 흔히 ‘믿음 좋은 사람’하면 예배에 빠지지 않고 교회 활동을 열심히 하는 사람이라고 생각합니다. 틀린 말은 아니지만, 진짜 믿음이 좋은 사람은 교회 밖에서도 정직하고 깨끗하게 행동하며, 이웃과도 관계를 잘 맺는 사람입니다.
Help me to live an honest and righteous life, not only in church, but also outside church as well.
