In the One Who Gives You Strength
Paul gives thanks to the Philippians who are still in need themselves but sent him an offering. But he says that more than this, what made him feel abundant and satisfied was the work of God.

What lesson is God teaching me?
Verse 10- The Philippians worried about their economic situation. But when the chance to help Paul came, they gladly gave. More than the offering itself, Paul was happy with the fact that they considered the difficulty of others something they should help out. Instead of saving all you have to use for later, see if there is someone you can help today.
Verses 11-13- Paul is thankful for the offering, but he says that whether in plenty or in want, he is not influenced by his circumstance and confesses that he has found the secret of being content in every situation. That is why he could be thankful when he had plenty and when he was in need. We can learn the secret of contentment when we have a relationship with God, who not only created us but supplies us with the things that we need. We live in a world that considers money to be god, so it is important that we quickly learn the secret of contentment. If we do, we will know that living a life of contentment is the way that a citizen in the kingdom of heaven should live.
Verses 14-18- The church in Philippi did not have much (2Co 8:2). But after Paul received the gospel and until he was thrown in prison, the Philippians monetarily helped Paul’s ministry. This was not just supporting Paul, but a relationship they made with Paul’s ministry and suffering. It was also a fragrant gift that God would happily accept. Love is not giving when you have plenty. True love is giving first, giving the best, and sacrificing.
